Geordy the Glowy Ghost
The eeriest holiday of the year, Halloween, stems from an ancient Celtic feast for the celebration of the dead called “Samhain”. It was seen as the specific stretch of time, when the boundary between this world and the world beyond was the thinnest.
For this Halloween knit good-humored Geordy the Glowy Ghost in existence and let him cross over into your own festive world. And enjoy the spooky surprise that happens, when you turn off the lights!
Geordy the Glowy Ghost measures 10 centimeters in height and is a fun, fast and easy project, with some knitting flat and in the round.
At night-time Geordy has a little surprise in store: HE GLOWS IN THE DARK! Add a strand of special glow-in-the-dark sewing yarn to your base. Yarn brands like DMC and Gütermann have these phosphorescent yarns in their collections.
For this model 2.00 mm double pointed needles were used and a single ply of Rowan Chenille (762) winter white, with a strand of DMC E940 glow-in-the-dark added to the base.
The underside has been threaded with thin, pliable metal wire and the head has been given its’ shape by inserting an empty coffee capsule.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
