George Sand was a novelist of the French Romantic period. There are two very interesting things you should know about George: she’s a woman (George was her nom de plume), and she usually dressed like a man. She also dated Frederic Chopin and Guy de Maupassant, and was generally someone you really wish you could have a beer with.
This vest is inspired by George’s bohemian menswear style: a funky colorwork vest, worked top-down in one piece (with no seaming). Only two strands of yarn are worked in this project—the color changes come courtesy of the Noro Kureyon. Background yarn is any worsted weight wool—I used Paton’s Classic Wool, but Cascade 220 will work well too.
