Basic knowledge of crochet skills are needed.
what you will need:
yarn ~ skin tone, hair color, body/shoe color, arm/leg/skirt color, hat color
~ colors and as many or less as you want is always an option
hook size to match yarn weight
stitch marker
polyfil for stuffing
scissors
yarn needle
pins to hold while attaching pieces
OPTIONAL ~ cardboard/beads to weigh gnome down
abbreviations:
mr ~ magic ring
ch ~ chain
sc ~ single crochet
hdc ~ half double crochet
tr ~ triple crochet
ss ~ slip stitch
inc ~ increase
dec ~ decrease
BLO ~ back loop only
rpt ~ repeat
rnd ~ round
i-cord ~ link provided
F/O ~ fasten off
this pattern is worked in continuous rounds & US terms
notes:
- all the yarn I used was “I Love This Yarn”
- I used TAN for the skin tone, LIGHT GRAY for the hair, LIGHT PURPLE for the body/shoes, LIGHT VARIEGATED MIX for the arms/legs/skirt, DARK PURPLE for the hat color
- I used a 3.75mm hook
- do arms/legs 1st, they’ll be attached as you make the body
- I used the Tulip I-Cord Knitter for arms/legs, video link for making an i-cord with hook is provided if you don’t have the machine
