Geralt the Witcher
This project was a labor of love. More specifically, I NEEDED to bring together my long-term love of knitting and my low-key obsession with The Witcher in the form of an excessively complicated plushy. To be honest, my Geralt is more of a mixed media project than a strict knitting creation. I incorporated crocheted elements, fabric paint, and even craft wire to get as close to my vision of the White Wolf as possible.
Please feel free to skip any embellishments that don’t appeal to you. I use fabric paint frequently because it helps to counteract yarn pilling and adds fun effects (like metal). My kids play rough with their toys, so I use materials that keep stuffies looking crisp longer. You’ll still get a good outcome if you just use yarn. You can also use craft eyes or embroidery to recreate some of the details I’ve painted.
Gauge: not applicable, although my Geralt was about 10” tall
Yarn: 100% acrylic worsted weight
Additional materials: tapestry needle, stitch holder or spare needle, measuring tape, Poly-Fil
Optional: fabric paints (silver, black, white, yellow, pink), safety eyes, floral wire
