Gerdrud the Female Viking
This pattern is worked in continuous rounds unless otherwise stated, placing a stitch marker at the start of each round.
Finished size without the helmet is about 35 cm tall when using a 2.5 mm hook. If you use another size of hook don’t forget to adjust the length of the wires.
Materials:
• Hook: 2.5 mm
• Fluffy yarn for the top of boots and around the cloak
• You can choose either yarn or cotton in any colors you like, as long as it goes with the size of your hook.
• I used these colors: brown, black, bordeaux, red, light brown, yellow gold, grey silver, cream, white, peach, dark grey and dark purple.
• Tapestry or darning needle
• Mohair yarn for all the hairy parts (orange here)
• Electric wire (around 38 cm x 2 for the body, 28 cm x 2 for the arms)
• 10 mm safety eyes if you don’t want to make them.
• Scissors
• Cardboard for the shield
• Stitch marker
• Tape
• Pliers for cutting wire
• Poly fill to stuff the doll
• Optional: studs
• 2 hooks and eyes fastenings (to close the dress)
