Also needed: 34 size 6mm round beads.

I used a two ply lace weight yarn for the first scarf by Rowan that was 80% Alpaca and 20% Merino. For the second scarf, I used a 100% Merino hand dyed lace weight. Both worked perfectly for this pattern. I used a knitted on method for the glass beads. I would consider this a beginning lace knitter level. You may add more points, if you desire a wider scarf simply by repeating the pattern.
