Love the look of blankets with super-sized stitches and looking to try it for yourself?

This Giant Basketweave Crochet Afghan Pattern creates huge 7.5” rows of that classic basketweave design. But, don’t worry. You don’t have to go searching for and spend a ton of money on jumbo or ultra bulky yarn and an enormous crochet hook. This design is worked with worsted weight yarn (approx 3350-3500 yards) and a K-10.5/6.50mm hook. (Other required items are a tapestry needle and scissors.)

The design is worked all as one piece in rows all the way across, so you don’t have to worry about stitching together pieces at the end to get the final alternating weave effect. And, you don’t have to be an experienced crocheter in order to work this pattern. The pattern is written out and there are stitch directions for new crocheters to follow. There is also a section included which explains the logistics of a basketweave design which may be useful if you desire to alter the size of your afghan from that of the pattern.

So, this pattern is truly a great fit for crocheters at any level and doesn’t require anything more than most any other afghan. Most importantly, it’ll produce a stunning finished piece which will not only look fabulous but will keep you wonderfully warm.
