This Giant Garden Gnome crochet pattern stand 4 ft tall when finished.

This is an intermediate skill level pattern that is written in US crochet terminology!

Materials:
You will need yarn, stitch markers, 5.00 mm crochet hook, 30.00 mm safety eyes, polyfill, and a tapestry needle. If your want your gnome to lean/stand up as mine does you will need pvc pipe and a hand saw. You will also need a wire brush to fluff up the gnome beard.

Let’s talk about yarn!
You will need #4 worsted weight yarn for this project. I used Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice yarn for my gnome. Here is a list of each color and the yardage used:

• Beige: 340 yards
• Linen: 680 yards
• Dark Grey Heather: 340 yards
• Scarlet: 680 yards
• Barley: 680 yards
• Sage: 680 yards

I know Vanna’s Choice is a little pricey, but I just couldn’t resist the colors. They were perfect for a gnome. Feel free to use any brand or color you would like as long as it is #4 worsted weight yarn.

Gauge:
Gauge is not important. Just make sure you crochet tight enough that stuffing doesn’t poke out of your stitches!

Abbreviations:
• Ch: chain
• Sl st: slip stitch
• Sc: single crochet
• Inc: increase
• Dec: decrease
• Hdc: half double crochet

Other Important Information:
This gnome is made in the ragdoll style. This means you will make two different panels and then single crochet them together to finish your project!

Notes:
This is an intermediate skill level pattern. It’s made mostly by single crochet, but you must have a clear understanding of single crochet increase/decrease. You must also have a clear understanding of color work. (Changing yarn colors.) You will need patience for the assembly process!
