Giant Ice Cream Cone
This giant ice cream cone is adorable with its happy smiley face, and it’s so easy to make! Since it has no safety eyes or other detachable parts, it’s safe for children under 3. You can make a “life sized” version using sport-weight yarn, or an oversize version using worsted or bulky/chenille yarn. The instructions are given for sport weight yarn, but to make a truly giant ice cream corn, just use a heavier weight of yarn and a corresponding crochet hook (I recommend a 3.75 mm hook for worsted weight yarn and a 4.5 mm hook for bulky weight chenille yarn).
MATERIALS:
- sport weight yarn in one color for the cone (Color A) and another for the scoop (Color B)
- 2.5 mm crochet hook
- polyester fiber fill stuffing
- stitch marker
- yarn needle
- scissors
- embroidery thread or yarn in a contrasting color
SKILLS USED:
- single crochet, increase, and decrease (either single crochet two together or invisible decrease)
- color change
- stitching into front loop only
- basic embroidery
- stitching amigurumi closed
