Giddings Cowl
In the Giddings Cowl a textured box stitch pattern flows into easy lace. The cowl is knitted from the top down and seamed at the back of the neck.

Top neck circumference 23” /58 cm

Materials
1 Hank BAD SHEEP YARN (100g / 245 yds), Spiced Currant
OR approximately 235 yds DK weight yarn
24” Length circular knitting needle, size 7 (4.5 mm) OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE

22 sts = 4” /10 cm; 29 rows = 4” /10 cm in pattern stitch

Pattern stitch is both written row by row and charted.
The cowl is knitted top down and seamed at the back neck. Instructions are written using M1R and M1L. If you prefer, you may replace these increases with a backward loop cast on stitch. A circular needle is suggested to accommodate the growing number of stitches.
