Gidget the Pygmy Goat
Gidget is just a girl…and a goat. She’s about to enter her first 4-H fair contest and she hopes she’ll win a pretty blue ribbon! She loves to jump and play or just cuddle and watch movies. She’s a little thing – a great size to hop in your bag and join you on many adventures!
Gidget is crocheted using mostly join-as-you-go technique. Legs are added as you crochet over 2 rounds. Ears are added all at once within one round. Tail is surface crochet. Head is sewed on. There is a small amount of color-block used for forehead color changes. She’s little and quick to make!
Yarn: 125 yards or less worsted weight in brown, tan, grey or stonewashed colors for main body. (I used I Love This Yarn stonewashed). Scraps of Black and White for trim and legs.
Safety eyes: 10mm brown. You may also felt or embroider eyes, if desired.
Darning needle.
Felting needle and contrasting yarn fluff (optional) for fine details as desired.
Wire cat brush (optional if you would like her fuzzy).
Polyfil. (I use Polyfil brand crafter’s choice dry polyester packing for doll making).
Hook: 3.0mm or similar, 2 sizes smaller than yarn recommends.
