This crescent shawl crochet pattern uses the well-loved granny stripe stitch. A self-striping yarn makes colorwork easy. This is the first pattern in the 2024 Gift to Myself Crochet Along.

Teen/Adult: Wingspan measured at crescent tip: 28” (71 cm), measured at widest point: 30” (76 cm) x 19” (48.5 cm) spine unblocked.
Materials
Lion Brand Mandala String yarn (100% acrylic, 3.5 oz/100 g, 350 yd/320 m) – 2 skeins each in 207BP Harmony, or approximately 580 yd (530.5 m) in any super fine weight yarn.
US Size G-6/4.5 mm crochet hook, or any size needed to obtain correct gauge.
Yarn needle.
Gauge
20 sts (5 sets of 3 dc + ch-1 sp) in pattern for Row 3 = 4” (10 cm) unblocked. Exact gauge is not critical for this project.
