Gilded Pages Socks

The beginning of long and cold Winter is here in the North, and with it the slowing down of busy days outside as we transition into cozy days spent with our noses deep in a book. The season is like an old friend coming to tell me it’s time to delve into my to-be-read stack. I love to enjoy audiobooks while I knit, cook, or drive, and cherish curling up with beautiful hardcover books bound in cloth or leather, with gilded pages, and elaborate bookmarks.
I love how a design can tell a story, or invoke a feeling, so my dear friends, meet the Gilded Pages Socks!

A cuff down sock design, that features simple meditative lace, a pop of color from a lateral braid at the cuff, and a traditional flap and gusset heel framed n garter.

They are knitted up in fingering weight yarn on size US 2/2.5 mm needles.
They are sized Kids Large/Teen through Adult Large.

For my sample I used Cascade 220 fingering for the MC, and a little band of Knitting for Olive Merino fingering for the lateral braid, ahem, bookmark. (Do you see it too?)
