Yarn: 1 skein each of MC & CC. Shown in Boothbay Blue & Oyster, size large.

Size is adjusted by changing gauge. For the large/8” circ, needle size is US 3/3.25 mm or size needed to get gauge.

Notions: 1 stitch marker, scrap yarn (approx. 5”), tapestry needle for weaving in ends.

Mittens to go with Gyre! These stranded colourwork mittens have a Scandinavian thumb with gusset for a better fit, and a long, narrow cuff to fit inside your coat sleeves. (Directions for a shorter cuff are included.) The mittens are worked in the round from the cuff up, with the thumb stitches picked up and worked at the end. Use whichever method you prefer -- DPNs, Magic Loop, or 2 circular needles -- for working in the round. The pattern is charted only, with instructions for doing lifted increases and 2-stitch cables without a cable needle. It also includes a link to a video demonstrating the double start cast on used in the sample.
If you are making these mittens to match Gyre, use the same colours for MC and CC.

You can purchase Gyre & Gimble as a set for $9. If you bought Gyre before Gimble came out, the discount will automatically be applied to your Gimble purchase.
