My son saw some of the adult scalemail gauntlets I have been designing lately and informed me he needed a pair of “dragon gloves” too. So I designed a quick little pair for him! Every little dwarf, warrior princess, and dragon slayer needs a pair. I hope your little ones love them as much as mine do! These are, of course, unisex; just make sure you check the sizing on their palm before casting on.

If you have never worked scalemail before, please don’t be intimidated! It looks a lot more difficult than it actually is. It’s very similar to working beads inline with your knitting. I have made a tutorial to help you. View it here:

I have supplied my scales from TheRingLord.com website, using the “small” size. Here is a link to their inventory:

The colors used in this sample were:
“Tempered High Carbon Steel”
Wit a couple pieces of:
“Mixed Titanium”
thrown in for a little variety.

Sizes: Circumference in Inches (Circumference in Cm)
Small: 5” (12.5 cm)
Medium: 5 ½” (14 cm)
Large: 6” (15 cm)
Extra Large: 6 ½” (16.5 cm)
Extra-Extra Large: 7” (18 cm)

Notions: 3 stitch markers, 90 - 140 small scalemail scales (about ¾”/2.25 mm long), and a small tapestry needle.

Techniques: Knitting in the round, basic increases and decreases, and basic scalemail placing techniques.
