Gingerbread House Applique Christmas
This pattern describes in US terminology how to crochet a gingerbread house applique as shown in pictures, including instructions for the background patch.
Finished size of the gingerbread house will be approx. 3.15” x 3.95”, h x w, (8 x 10 cm), background patch will be approx. 4.5” (11.5 cm) in diameter, all made using 5 ply cotton yarn and hook size C (2.5 mm).
You can make smaller or taller versions of this applique by using thicker or thinner yarn.
Gauge is not important for this pattern, just work tight enough so your crochet will not show holes.
Stitches used: slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, treble crochet
Skill level: advanced beginner
Materials used:
- Crochet hook size C (2.5 mm) or the size that fits your yarn
- Small amounts of yarn; taupe, pink, white, red, brown, blue, yellow.
- Stitch markers, tapestry needle, pins, embellishments of personal choice.
