Gingerbread House Pocket
Fill this little Gingerbread House Pocket with Christmas treats and hang from your tree or mantelpiece.
Each gift bag is made from two house-shaped pieces, with the roof in garter stitch with a slipped stitch edge, and the body in stockinette stitch. You can decorate as you like to personalise your project; perhaps add name tags, or make a set of numbered houses as an advent calendar.
Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, each is knitted in acrylic DK yarns on single pointed needles (not in the round). This house is decorated with a 2 stitch i-cord “icing” around the door and window. The pocket pieces are joined together with a single crochet edging, but you could sew together and perhaps add a decorative blanket stitch edging instead if you don’t crochet.
NEEDLES
A pair of 3.5mm straight single pointed knitting needles and 3.5mm crochet hook (US 4).
