Gingerbread Kitty
Make your holiday extra delightful with this adorable gingerbread kitty covered in whipped cream, sprinkles and a cherry on top!
If you use skin color and no whiskers you can make a gingerbread child or a regular gingerbread man! See my tester’s pictures.
Whether you make her in big plush yarn or worsted weight, the end results look good enough to eat.
It is a fairly low sew project meaning the arms, legs and body are all sewn in the round and the body is one piece, bottom to top. You only sew on
the yummy accessories.
The pattern has many pictures to help guide you in your crochet journey.
For the big kitty I used Chenille Slim by Loops and Threads in Terracotta color. The white is Sweet Snuggles Lite. I used a 7 mm hook with 1” felt oval eyes. She is about 12” tall. For the sprinkles and gum drop buttons I used Parfait
Chunky as they have a better color variety. You can even use worsted for this part.
The smaller one is worsted weight with a 4 mm hook and 7 x 10 mm oval safety eyes and is about 6.5” tall.
I have very tight tension so I recommend you use whatever size hook you feel comfortable with for these yarns.
I use a little bit of black mercerized cotton yarn for the whiskers and the cherry stem.
