A cute little Christmas ornament you can use to decorate your home. This pattern includes detailed step by step written instructions for a gingerbread man and a woman.

They are knit in the round using double-pointed needles (though magic loop remains a possibility, if a bit fiddly). There is no seaming required. They are knit in one piece. Only the “glazing” is embroidered.

This pattern is probably better suited for experienced knitters as some rather rare techniques are used to shape the arms. There are, however, video tutorials available for all of them. So, it could be a good opportunity to expand your horizon.

It takes about 4 hours to knit one ornament if you are a fast knitter. The finished gingerbreads will be around 5.5 inches tall and 4.5 inches wide (by skipping a couple of increases/decreases) it should be fairly straight-forward to knit them even smaller.

You only need scrap quantities of fingering yarn. I love the Wollmeise yarn, but you can pretty much knit these in the color and yarn of your choice. I’m sure you could even scale things up and use DK yarn and 3.5mm needles.
