DESIGNER’S NOTES:
- The use of this stitch pattern for this hat was inspired by the Classic Checked Vest by John Crane.
-
Many different color combinations look good in this hat, and though the pattern is written for Option 1, it is easily adapted to Option 2.
-
Option 1 (traditional Gingham) requires a CC1 that is dark, a CC2 that is light, and a MC that is halfway between CC1 and CC2.
-
Option 2 (a grid of squares or checks) requires the same color for MC & CC2 with sharply contrasting CC1.
