These fun and fantastic mittens are great to make if you’re new to creating small colour work projects. The pattern repeats in a really straightforward way so you don’t have to be staring at the colour work charts the entire time (all the better to Netflix and knit).

The entire mitten is 28cm in length (to keep your wrists warm) and generously fits a hand with a 20cm circumference. The cuffs are made on 2.75mm needles and the main mitten is made on 3mm needles which means there is lots of flexibility for playing around with needle sizes should you desire a tighter or looser fit.

This pattern will work fabulously with sock yarn or fingering weight yarn or mix them up together. Just pick the perfect colours and away you go. You will need about 20gms of each colour for one mitten (40gm total per mitten) so if you have a stash of minis that need a project or leftovers from socks - this is the pattern for you!

I love colour work cuffs but know that many love stretchy rib cuffs. Therefore I have included instructions for both in this pattern so you have of options. Similarly, I like to add customised patterns or logos inside the wrists of mittens that are made for friends. So, I have also included extra charts just in case you would like to give it a go.
