Ginseng Garden Lace Scarf/Shawlette is an Asian-inspired pattern that is designed in a traditional triangular shape. It features lace designed to look like ginseng leaves arranged sideways on the body of the scarf. The center stockinette stitches form fans around the middle of the scarf. The edging is a half-leaf lace that graduates into a scalloped border. I have used Cascade Ultra Pima Fine yarn in the shade of Ginseng, 2 skeins of 136 yards, to compliment the Asian flavor of the shawl, but any fine weight yarn would work. It is intentionally designed to be short enough to wear with the point in the front, bib style, but can be wrapped around the back to cover the top of the shoulders as well. This pattern includes the written line by line instructions, and also a chart, although the chart is merely a general guideline of what the right half of the body of the shawl looks like in chart form. It can be read easily though with your PDF viewer in an enlarged size. The left half is a mirrored repeat of the charted right half. The border is not charted and is added on after the body of the shawl is worked.
