I use one 100g skein of Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK Sunshine for the main body, plus a small amount of mocha white and red for eyes/tongue and spots.

Other materials needed;

5mm hook
small amount of toy stuffing for eyes.
toy safety eyes 8mm (or embroidery can be used as an alternative).
tapestry needle.
