The Girdwood Hat, in the spirit of the matching Girdwood Mittens, comes in a range of sizes to fit newborns through adults. It is a color stranded hat that uses two or more colors and is worked in the round from the brim. The hat begins with an i-cord cast on.

Different sizes are achieved by adjusting the yarn, the needles you use and the resulting gauge. For details about what yarn and needles are suggested for each size, click on the chart picture at left.

Needles
To knit the Girdwood Hat you will need a 16” circular needle and a set of DPNs in the size that results in the correct gauge. Suggested needles are shown on the chart at left.
