Newborn To fit: 0 years.
4.75” (12 cm) circumference using fingering weight yarn.
This size is knit without thumbs.
Toddler To fit: 1-2 years.
6” (15.25 cm) circumference using sport weight yarn.
This size is knit without thumbs.
Small Kid To fit: 3-6 years.
6” (15.25 cm) circumference using sport weight yarn.
Big Kid To fit: 6-10 years.
7.25” (18.5 cm) circumference using light worsted weight yarn.
Small Adult
7.5” (19 cm) circumference using light worsted weight yarn.
Medium Adult
8.5” (21.5 cm) circumference using bulky weight yarn.
Large Adult
9” (22.75 cm) circumference using bulky weight yarn.
When choosing a size, be sure to measure your hands carefully and choose the size that is closest to your measurement.
See the chart (second picture) to learn more about yardage requirements. For most yarn choices, one ball each of two contrasting colors is sufficient to knit a pair of mittens. 15-20 yards of a third contrasting color can be used for the cuff.
