Girl with a Pearl Earring
The Girl with the pearl earring is a pattern from my second book, Gallery. This book is based on iconic paintings by the greatest masters of time, including Johannes Vermeer’s Girl with the Pearl earring - on which this pattern is based. The book is retiring soon; therefore, the patterns are also available individually as a download.
Some general information about the Girl with a pearl earring:
Yarn requirements for this pattern:
To make the doily in both colors, you will need 1 ball of Scheepjes Metropolis in the colorways 035 Seoul and 004 Kabul. Scheepjes Metropolis comes in balls of 50 grams with a length of 218 yards. The yarn consists of 75% Extra fine Merino wool and 25% Nylon.
Crochet hook(s) needed: 2.5 mm crochet hook
Size:The doily’s diameter will be approximately 12 inches after blocking or crocheting it into a ring.
Other materials needed: optional is two iron rings with a diameter of 12 inches to frame the doilies. However, this is no must but an optional choice.
You will use tiny beads to crochet into the stitches; you will need 280 beads for two doilies. In addition, you will need round glass beads with a size 6/0. I used Miyuki rocailles in colorway Antique Ivory Pearl. However, pearls are also optional as the doily can also be made without beads.
The pattern contains written instructions guided by a chart. It is available in English (US terms) and Dutch. After purchase, you can download a PDF file in your preferred language.
You can also get the e-book with all 12 patterns in it if you prefer this option. It has a discount of at least 45% off in compensation for buying all patterns individually. You can find it here.
