You know how they say diamonds are a girl’s best friend? Well, this diamond textured beanie may be a close second!! This is a great option for the girl who likes to wear a hat all day - it has an amazing texture, but won’t have you sweating when you head inside. And there are two options included in the pattern for a beanie option OR a messy bun option with a removable pom-pom (for those days you want to wear your hair down, but still rock your Girl’s Best Friend Beanie)!!

For this project, you will need a few things:
• Yarn: Georga Bebe Love Baby #3 Light in Baby Mint and Grey (using 2 strands at once) or a #5 Bulky yarn – check your measurements as you go (see pattern notes for more info on yarns/gauge)
Note: some of my testers worked this up using a #4 medium yarn and their results were wonderful! Be creative and use any yarn you love!
• Hook: J/6.00mm hook (if you crochet loose, you may want to downsize your hook to 5mm or 5.5mm if it is working up too big – check your measurements as you work)
• Pom-Pom Maker (if desired)
• Button(s) to add to the brim and a large, flat button (1-1/4”) if you’d like to make a removable pom-pom.
• Darning Needle (to weave in ends)

I am a tight crocheter, so I have included many tips and instructions on how to modify your hat size, as well as a chart to guide you when it comes to average head sizes.
