I have designed this easy crochet girls cross body purse pattern with basic crochet stitches using US terminology of chains, single crochet and half double crochets so it is not complicated but still has an overall affect of looking fabulous. I have written this pattern in my own unique extended style with plain English so it is really easy to follow and each step I have provided images so you can check your progress visually as well. For UK and Australian crocheters there is a stitch conversion for you.

This crossbody purse has so many colour themed options available. You will be able to make quite a few purses from the 5 different coloured balls of yarn each creating a different look. You can create so many looks with this pattern.

I have made this crochet bag using Milk Yarn which is an 8ply (feels like 10 ply) 60% cotton 40% acrylic yarn so it is easy to wash. Paintbox Cotton Aran and Epic Yarn and Colours 10 ply yarn would also be a great options for this pattern. Any cotton or cotton blend yarn in an 8 or 10 ply would be suitable for this project.

I have also included a handy tutorial taking you through the steps of implementing the invisible join when changing colours . This technique can be used with any crochet projects worked in the round that requires colour changes.

MATERIALS

CROCHET HOOK: METRIC: Size 4.25mm, USA: G, UK: Size 8 (this is a 4.00mm comparison)

I used 8 ply (feels like 10 ply) Milk Cotton 60% cotton 40% acrylic 100g yarn for this project. I purchased 5 balls of different coloured yarn and out of that yarn I made quite a few purses with a different colour combinations. Any yarn that is a DK weight, 8-10ply cotton or cotton blend would be suited to this project.
