Girl's Purse with ADJUSTABLE Strap!
Finally a crochet purse with a SMOOTH ADJUSTABLE STRAP!
This pattern comes with both the purse and a detailed photo-tutorial of the strap design. There is no horrible clumping or gathering along the buckle, it slides as smoothly as canvas.
Skill level: Intermediate
Notes for the purse body:
The yarn is doubled up, so you are working with two strands at a time. Because of this, you will need at least 2 skeins of yarn. Any worsted weight yarn is acceptable.
If you decide to change color at the top, you will need an additional 2 skeins of yarn in the second color.
Notes for the strap:
The adjustable strap is worked with only one strand of yarn. You will not need an additional skein for this, however. I had plenty of yarn leftover to do the entire strap.
Other materials needed:
K/6.5mm hook for bag
F/3.75mm hook for strap
2 D rings (one inch wide)
One metal slide/buckle (one inch wide)
Yarn needle
Measurements:
--Bag is approx. 10.5” wide and 8” long, but can be easily altered by adding/removing rows
--Strap can be adjusted along the buckle to any length from 25” to 50” long.
The pattern is full of pictures, but please feel free to email me if you have any questions. Happy crocheting!
