I have designed this easy crochet girls cross body bag pattern with basic crochet stitches using US terminology of chains, single crochets and half double crochets so it is not complicated but still has an overall affect of looking fabulous. I have written this pattern in my own unique extended style with plain English so it is really easy to follow and each step has images so you can check your progress visually as well. For UK and Australian crocheters there is a stitch conversion for you included with the downloads.

I have also included a handy Crochet Stripes Tutorial to walk you through the process of changing colours without the need to break off yarn whenever you change colours.

This crochet bag has so many colour themed options available. You will be able to make quite a few purses from the 3 different coloured balls of yarn each creating a different look. You can create so many looks with this pattern.

I have made this crochet bag using Milk Yarn which is an 8ply (feels like 10 ply) 60% cotton 40% acrylic yarn so it is easy to wash. Any cotton or cotton blend yarn in an 8 or 10 ply would be suitable for this project. Epic Yarn and Colors and Paintbox would also work really well for this project.

MATERIALS

CROCHET HOOK: METRIC: Size 4.25mm, USA: G, UK: Size 8 (this is a 4.00mm comparison)

I used 8 ply (feels like 10 ply) Milk Cotton 60% cotton 40% acrylic 100g yarn for this project. I purchased 3 balls of different coloured yarn. You should be able to make a few different coloured bags with these three balls mixing up the colours used for each bag. Any yarn that is a DK weight, 8-10ply cotton or cotton blend would be suited to this project.

Button closure for front of purse (optional).

Darning needle to sew in ends.
