I have designed this easy crochet girls striped tote bag pattern with basic crochet stitches using US terminology of chains, single crochet and half double crochets so it is not complicated but still has an overall affect of looking fabulous. For UK crocheters there is a stitch conversion for you.

This PDF pattern has been designed to be very flexible giving you the ability to adjust the size to create a smaller or larger bag as well as giving you many options for how you would like your stripes to look. You can create so many looks with this pattern.

I have made this crochet bag using Milk Yarn which is an 8ply (feels like 10 ply) 60% cotton 40% acrylic yarn so it is easy to wash.

I have included a handy tutorial taking you through the steps of working in stripes with an invisible seem for each row . This technique can be used with any crochet projects worked in the round that requires colour changes. There are also no seams to join as the bag is worked as one piece.

MATERIALS

CROCHET HOOK: METRIC: Size 4.25mm, USA: G, UK: Size 8 (this is a 4.00mm comparison)

I used 8 ply (feels like 10 ply) Milk Cotton 60% cotton 40% acrylic 100g yarn for this project. I purchased 5 balls of different coloured yarn and at of that yarn I made 5 tote bags with a different main colour with yarn still left over. Any yarn that is a DK weight, 8-10ply cotton or cotton blend would be suited to this project.

Darning needle to sew in ends.

Width Of Bag: 20cm (This measurement was taken while bag was flat).
Depth Of Bag Middle: 18cm (This measurement was taken while bag was flat).
