Girl's Velvet Skirt
I made this skirt for my daughter who is 6 and half and wears a size 6/7 clothing. You’ll probably want to size down since the ribbing is pretty stretchy. But the belt makes a nice cinch effect so if your finished skirt ends up too big the belt will help a lot.
This pattern can be used to make a bigger or smaller size. Simply measure the waist and make your ribbing the same length. Then you will make a row of SC around the ribbing and increase by making a SC in 1 ST and 2 SC in the next ST and repeating across the row. After that simply work in rounds of SC+HCD in same ST, Skip 1 ST, repeat.
The last row of the skirt is a row of bobble stitches. The belt is make with one strand of yarn weaved through the ribbing with pom poms added to the ends.
