Is there anything more classically girlish than  ruffles and lace?
YARN, GAUGE, SIZE AND MACHINE  Any machine may be used. No ribber. The purl  side is the right side. Finished hip sizes from  22-42 increasing in 2” increments are given.  Knit to any  length that you prefer. If you find yourself deliberating between 2 stitch sizes to get the  gauge, choose the larger one. Looser stitches  make it slightly easier to get the ruffles on  right.  Allow anything from 0-4” of ease over the actual  hip measurement. Washable acrylic yarn is best  for this. You’ll need a background yarn that  gets 4 stitches/6 rows, 5.5 stitches/8 rows, or  7 stitches/10 rows per inch. The sample is Red  Heart Super Saver on the bulky. Sport weight  yarn works on the mid-gauge and fingering weight on the standard. For the ruffle, use  Red Heart Boutique Sashay yarn for all versions.
