Giverny
Inset mosaic crochet design, inspired by Monet’s garden at Giverny.
Originally published in issue 67 of Crochet Now magazine.
Inset mosaic involves changing yarn colour every 2 rows, with the unused colour being carried up the side of the work, hence minimising the number of ends needing to be woven in.
If you are new to this technique, don’t worry, full written instructions are given (including lots of helpful photos), and I have also provided a clear, easy to follow chart.
The pattern is available in a choice of UK or US terms.
The pattern is written for, and yarn requirements below relate to, a single size blanket, which measures around 105 x 135 cm (42 x 53 inches) at the stated tension.
However, the 12 stitch x 24 row pattern repeat makes it easy to adjust to any size, from a scarf or placemat, to a King Size bed cover.
