Giverny Iris Pillow
The inspiration for this cushion came during a visit to Monet’s Gardens in France. Claude Monet spent his last (and most creative) years cultivating his garden and his art at Giverny, 50 miles outside of Paris. I visited this garden in June and the garden was full of the most amazing flowers including roses and irises. The irises were the most memorable as they came in so many colours and stood really tall amongst all the other flowers in the borders.
The cushion is knitted as one piece in Stockinette Stitch in Double Knitting yarn and the pattern provides a coloured chart to follow for the iris. There is a 4 button opening at the back.
This would make a lovely gift for someone who loves their plants and gardens.
