Giving Slipover
This is a very simple pattern since it’s worked in Stockinette Stitch. You will knit it quickly, and it’s a basic, elegant, and delicate accessory. This vest is knitted from the bottom up, with the front and back pieces worked separately. Once they are knitted, you will sew the sides first and then the shoulders. You will knit an edge on the sides, a 2x2 ribbed trim, and a 1x1 ribbed neckline. With this pattern, you’ll learn how to make decreases, knit a V-neck, and practice basic stitches: knit and purl.
The slipover is knitted in flat. First, you will knit the back
piece and then the front piece.
The slipover is designed to have 5-7cm / of positive ease.
Choose a size that is 5-7cm / 2-2.7 in bigger than your bust
circumference depending on how tight fitting you want the slipover to be. It is knitted bottom up.
On every row, you will knit an edge on both sides to give it a decorative
and unique touch.
Keep in mind that decreases are always made on the
right-side rows.
I recommend placing a marker at the end of the initial
edge stitches and at the beginning of the final edge stitches.
I also recommend keeping a pen and paper handy to track
the neckline and armhole decreases.
