This is a full mitten that easily converts back and forth from a fingerless mitten. As a small-handed person who finds most store-bought single-sized mittens too floppy to be comfortable, I have written this pattern in 2 sizes. Furthermore, I have provided several ways to customize the dimensions of the mitten.

Only Shetland wool softens and blooms this beautifully after the first wash, but any fingering weight wool will work.

The patterns and colours in this design are derived from the rich blues and lush greens of the glacial lakes, deep in the Canadian shield, fringed by the soft green pines.
