Glacial Rivers
Inspired by the glacial rivers of iceland as they are often shot by my favorite photographer Chris Burkard. You can see stunning examples of it here and here. Iceland is the most beautifully striking place I’ve ever been and is a source of a lot of inspiration when I create.
I hope you enjoy this cowl project as much as I did. It’s a fast and fun cowl created in an interesting way. You start out at the top of the cowl and work your way down, slowly increasing as you do. It’s an easy, meditative part of the project. Then, at the bottom you split your cowl into a front panel and back panel (holding the back half on scrap yarn while you finish the front). You continue with the front panel creating the gorgeous winding brioche pattern that is easy to work and knits up so fast. Once you are done you repeat the same process on the back panel, but with the other color dominant so you can choose which side you want to wear as the front on any given day, to go with any outfit.
I love to wear my cowl for extra warmth around my neck and a little extra fun piece to show off the beauty of knitting on the front and back with each panel laying flat on display.
