Ice and snow and glaciers combine to inspire this shawl! As the temperatures grow colder, the nights grow longer, and we as knitters find ourselves in need of some knitted warmth, may I humbly suggest this little shawl of mine?
Glaciation is a shawl of gorgeous drape, shape, and chilly escape from your normal knitting! Are you ready to have some fun and knit this wonderfully warm and fun shawl?
The shawl uses short-rows and stripes along with some textural yarn changes to create this beautifully drapey, gorgeous piece that’s sure to impress your knitting friends!
Size: 21 inches (54 cm) along the center line X 85 inches (216 cm) along the top edge. Size will vary due to individual gauge, yarns used, and blocking preferences.
Recommended yarn: 2 colors of fingering weight yarn in solid, semi-solid, tonal, or variegated colors. Sample uses Grinning Gargoyle Seda Sock (50% Superwash Merino / 50% Silk) in the Platinum (A) and Carbon (B) colorways.
Yardage:
- Color A: 440 yds/ 405 m;
- Color B: 440 yds/ 405 m
Needles: 32” US size 8 / 5.0 mm circular needles
Gauge: 4.5 sts to the inch in garter stitch on US size 8 / 5.0 mm needles using a single strand of fingering weight
