Gladsum, Glaidsum(e, a. Also: gladsome.
ME. gladsum (c 1410), gladsom (c 1386), f. Glad a.
Implying, suggestive of, or showing gladness. (Cf. senses of Glad a.) from the Dictionary of the Scots Language

“The world and each day in it is a gift,” Jamie Frasier’s statement in Diana Gabaldan’s fifth Outlander novel, The Fiery Cross, is worked into the band of this stranded color-work tam. I hope that by taking this message to heart, its wearer is able to greet each day with gladsome cheer. The colors of Jamieson’s Shetland yarn used in this project were inspired by the Mackenzie and Frasier tartans worn in the Outlander TV series.

There are ten different colors used in this design, so it is a perfect project for using up leftover stash yarn. You should be able to work two complete hats using 10 full skeins of Jamieson’s Shetland Spindrift. If you decide to choose your own colors, select five yarns with a light color value and five with a darker, highly contrasting value.
