Glaramara Crochet Shawl
An original shawl design that can be made in any weight yarn and as large or small as you like! Use a silky or mohair laceweight yarn for a summer accessory, or a chunky soft wool for a warm and cosy winter wrap.
I named it ‘Glaramara’ after a peak in the Lake District, as it was whilst driving through the Lake District that inspirtation for this shawl struck me. The name is an Old Norse word apparently, which is translated as ‘Hill with the mountain hut by a chasm’. How beautiful is that?!
For the example shown, I used one cake of the rainbow gradient yarn from ‘Namolio’ (you can find her shop on Etsy). I used a 5mm crochet hook.
This is a written pattern without a chart. Basic crochet skills required. Stitches used: slip stitch, chain stitch, single crochet and double crochet. Instructions on how to block are included.
