GLASS GEMS SWEATER
Named after the colorful variety of corn, Glass Gems is a seamless yoke sweater adorned with jewel-like colorwork. Instructions for two knitting directions are provided.

To fit bust sizes: 28–30 (32–34, 36–38, 40–42, 44–46) (48–50, 52–54, 56–58, 60–62)” with 4-6” of positive ease. Size 2 shown.

- 4 (4, 4, 5, 5) (5, 6, 6, 6) skeins of Fiber for the People Merino DK (100% Non-superwash merino; 246 yds per 100 g skein), shown in The Real Teal
- OR 790 (860, 930, 1000, 1100) (1200, 1280, 1390, 1470) yds of DK weight yarn
CC
- 1 (1, 1, 1, 1) (2, 2, 2, 2) skeins of Fiber for the People Merino DK (100% Non-superwash merino; 246 yds per 100 g skein), shown in Leather
- OR 180 (190, 210, 220, 240) (260, 280, 290, 310) yds of DK weight yarn
Mohair (held together with CC, can be omitted)
- 1 (1, 1, 1, 1) (1, 1, 1, 1) skeins of Fiber for the People Kid Mohair/Silk (70% ultrafine kid mohair 30% silk; 459 yds / 50 g), shown in Cactus Flower.
- OR 180 (190, 210, 220, 240) (260, 280, 290, 310) yds of a similar lace weight yarn
GAUGE
20 sts and 28 rows = 4” in stockinette stitch in the round with US 7 (4.5mm) needles, blocked.
Go up or down a needle size when working the colorwork section to maintain this gauge.

US 7 / 4.5 mm 32” / 80 cm circular needles

TECHNIQUES involved:
1 x 1 Tubular ribbing cast on using waste yarn,
Crochet provisional cast on
German short rows and double stitch (DS):
Folded hem
Tubular bind off for 1x1 rib
NOTES ON FIT
Sleeves are on the shorter side and are meant to be slightly pushed up to ¾ sleeve length when worn.
Fit is relaxed with a good amount of ease
Length should be slightly cropped.
ADDITIONAL NOTES

This sweater is knit from the yoke up by starting with a provisional cast on. After the yoke and neckline are finished, the cast on is unzipped, and the sweater is worked top-down. This allows for customization, as you can try it on as you go.

If casting on a whole yoke’s worth of stitches is not your cup of tea, there are instructions to knit the sweater fully bottom-up, as well.

This pattern has not been test knitted in sizes 6, 7, 8, or 9. If you would like to test knit either of those sizes, please contact me.
