Glass Houses
The architecture in Barcelona is absolutely stunning! Last fall I was lucky enough to tag along on my husband’s work trip and everywhere I looked there was something breathtaking and beautiful. But the one building that really did it for me was Casa Batllo. This masterpiece is decorated with a colorful mosaic made of broken ceramic and glass tiles. I knew I just had to make a shawl inspired from it!!!
This asymmetric two-color triangle shawl features sections of colorful mosaic squares, which are gently placed between textured stripes. The colorwork pattern uses slip stitches and only one color at a time to create this fascinating result. The shawl ends with a border in a solid color slipped stitch pattern.
Here is the perfect way to highlight Spun Right Round Classic Sock beautiful variegated and speckled yarns, just grab a solid color to use as the background and to frame with. You will want a nice contrast between the two colors, this will give you a stained-glass effect.
