This listing is for a Beginner Tunisian crochet pattern, with full written instructions, photo tutorials for every step and a color chart.
Level of Difficulty:
This is a Beginner Tunisian Crochet pattern for a fully reversible beanie, featuring a traditional highland tartan-inspired pattern (using two colors of Heartland). Despite the appearance, there are NO color changes involved! It assumes comfortable knowledge of basic crochet stitches, and includes full photo tutorials of how to set up for Tunisian stitches as well as for the stitches themselves.
Materials:
- Size 4 Medium Worsted yarn
- 6mm (US J-10) double ended Tunisian Crochet Hook, and 5.5mm (US I-9) traditional crochet hook. Alternatively you can use 6mm/5.5mm interchangeable Tunisian Hooks, or sizes needed to meet gauge.

- scissors
- stitch marker (to mark the beginning of the round)
Gauge:
(brim, worked flat)
20 sts x 18 rows = 4” (10cm) in ribbing st pattern
(body, worked in the round)
16 sts x 16 rows = 4” (10cm) in body st pattern
Finished measurements:
Adult Large (to fit 23-25”): 22in around, 9in tall
Adult Medium (to fit 21-23”): 20in around, 9in tall
Teen (to fit 19-21”): 18in around, 8in tall
Child (to fit 17-19”): 16in around, 7in tall
Toddler (to fit 15-17”): 14in around, 6in tall
