Glencoyne Dale Celtic wrap
Graceful fish making their way upstream will give you a satisfying knitting experience!
This cuddly wrap is generously sized and can double as a travelling rug or throw. It would be easy to expand it into a full-sized blanket by knitting two or even three widths, or you could play with the fish motif in any way you like.
The whole pattern is charted. Because of the width, the left half of each chart segment needs to be glued to the right half (or you can simply place them next to each other).
Skills required: all the basics, such as knit, purl, k2tog, ssk, lifted incs, basic cables, following charts. The various techniques for starting and finishing closed-ring cables are explained in the pattern, but not cabling as such.
Use any DK yarn which has good stitch definition and blocks well.
The sample was made with 650 g of Drops Karisma in Grey Purple.
The design was inspired by a stone carving near Ullswater.
