“THIS STITCH pattern combines cables and texture to create a series of linked arches, and was inspired by an aerial view of river crossings,” explains Emma Vining. “The garter stitch texture also adds a 3D element to each arch support. The lines of the extended lower rib flow into the upper pattern of cabled arches; the scale of the arches changes from elongated shapes in the sweater’s
mid section to smaller shapes for the upper section.”
