Inspired by a visit to Glenfinnan this year, this cowl is perfect to keep your neck cosy, whether in the wilds of the Scottish Highlands or on the winter commute to work.

A quick project - perfect for a gift knit.

The cowl starts and finishes with an i-cord, giving a very neat edge. It is knit in the round and the main body of the cowl has a striking colourwork pattern.

• If an i-cord cast on/off seems too daunting, instructions are given for a rolled hem edge as an alternative. Although the i-cord edge is easier than you might think, so I would encourage you to give it a go.

The pattern has written instruction and a chart for the colourwork.
