BAH-LING. That was my first reaction when I saw this yarn. Wasn’t sure I’d like it at all. I’m not a big glitter person, so I had to think upon it a bit. Now, I’ve come to really like this yarn; it’s way softer than it looks (I find myself squeezing the ball whilst knitting with it) and has none of the metallic feel of other yarns with a similar strand of
Lurex.
For this project, you’ll be working from the cuff down to an afterthought heel and round toe. Both these features
require minimal attention and concentration if you’ve been sock knitting a while.
If you are newer to sock knitting, you’ll love that there’s no gusset shaping. That said, be sure to check the fabric
while you’re working on this sock – it requires a bit of extra stretch around the ankle (a problem with no gusset
socks)
