Glinda is the 14th design in my Tribute Series! Available only as part of Sock Tributes II until January 2017.

Ask most people who Billie Burke was and they won’t be able to tell you. Yet we all know her. In fact, most people would probably get the sex wrong unless they saw the spelling first. And this is a great shame – because all women in film, and the billions of us who love to watch them – owe Billie Burke a debt of enormous gratitude.
You’d be right if you guess Glinda, the Good Witch of the North in our beloved Wizard of Oz.

I thought it would be fun to focus once again on an actress who took us to a magical place in the movie The Wizard of Oz. She helped Dorothy get home after all and watched over the Munchkins in Oz.

Glinda’s socks are knit cuff to toe in a fun eyelet pattern with an Eye of Partridge heel flap and a star toe of course! I think most of you have seen this movie (if not you’ll want to) and will enjoy memories of it while you knit. Written and charted instructions are included.
