Glittering Starz Mobius
This pattern is not a tutorial on the mobius cast on – it is assumed you are already familiar. If you are not already familiar, at the very least, I highly recommend that you check out Cat Bordhi’s Intro to Moebius Knitting video on YouTube. Or even better still, if your LYS has a class teaching this great technique, take it. You will not be disappointed in the joys of mobius knitting.
When I first laid eyes on the Plymouth Encore Starz, I have to admit, I was a little impressed. It is an incredibly affordable yarn, and you would expect any added sparkle would cheapen it’s appearance. Not at all the case! This is an inexpensive yarn with a sophisticated amount of glitz. This project is perfect for gift giving, knits up fairly quickly, and you can make one in every color because you can afford to!
Materials:
1 ball Plymouth Encore Starz - 100g/200yds 74% Acrylic, 25% Wool, 1% Polyester (shown in color G194 Medium Gray)
US 8 circular needle in 47” length
Stitch marker
Needle to weave in ends
Measurements: Gauge is not critical for this project. I average 4 stitches per inch. Finished mobius is approximately 30 inches in circumference and 7 inches deep. I did not use an entire ball - approximately 85g.
